Same kiddo...

During the following session, we were working on oral comprehension and she gave an answer to a question that sounded like a pure guess to me, so I asked her the meaning of a key word in the story that pertained to the question:

Me: Okay, I'm going to read the story again, and I want you to listen carefully.
Child: Okay.
Me: [Read two sentences, something to the effect of it was the boy's first day at school and he missed his mom]. What does 'miss' mean?
Child: An unmarried female! [Big satisfied smile].
Me: Yeeesss, that's true, but what else can it mean? [And we detour a bit and talk about multiple meaning words].

I am also still enjoying the Japanese tea ceremony we had using an English style tea set.
