I just noticed that the flower tree outside of the FAC is a hibiscus plant--our national flower. And here it is growing at Calvin *mmph* It looks like a cross between a morning glory and hibiscus plant though, which is probably why I didn't realize what it was before. Pretty color if nothing said at all. Having these thoughts amidst the complacency of summers on-campus is rejuvenating.

And reading, I stumbled across this quote by Michelangelo that I now love:
