I've got internet access!!!! We finally got to register at the Uni and got student IDs and stuff, so now we can use the facilities there. It is indeed a relief. registering yesterday reminded me of the way M'sian offices handle similar procedures. Slow, and annoying. But I must say, it's even better here. They want things to get going, but in M'sia, it seems like laziness, pure inefficiency.
The crazy sight seeing of the first week has slowed down now that classes and other iffy items like that have gotten in the way. Our host Uni is right by the Danube River. A very beautiful sight. Kalvin Ter is a street here, and there's Calvin Cafe, the Reformed College and other "K/Calvin" buildings around. Yep, even a John Calvin statue, shaded by billowing trees. Beer and ciggie smoke is everywhere and almost everyone indulges themselves in these activities. Some from the group are already giddy with the freedom to drink as they please. I have yet to fully understand the the privilage and coolness/grown-up-ness of this. Sedih bila kadang2 nampak bebudak Kalvin kat sini cuba fit in dengan cara ini. There's a whole lot of SOs, about 3/4 JRs including myself and the rest SRs and 5th years, out of the 20 of us.
Yesterday was the official end of Week One, Budapest. It seems like I've been here since forever and want to stop taking classes (not all have begun yet) and go travel mroe around Europe. Plan for now is England and Ireland, 95% sure, and of course, the places surrounding Budapest, and hopefully, Switzerland for January. Greece, Italy, France, Germany are a distant possibility, Greece begin top of my list.
